The argument in favor of using filler text goes something like this: If you use any real content in the Consulting Process anytime you reach.

For a specialist business — a bespoke joinery, a niche HR consultancy, a marine surveyor — your website is really a trust-building exercise. Generic service pages describe what you do. A case study proves it. It shows the reader that someone very much like them had the same problem, hired you, and got a measurable result.
There's a search benefit too. A page titled "How we reduced stock write-offs for a specialist food producer" answers a narrow, specific question. That's exactly the kind of long-tail content that attracts qualified enquiries rather than casual browsers. Google rewards depth and relevance, and a well-written case study delivers both.
Before you write a word, ask the client. A short email covering three points works well: what you'd like to publish, how you'll describe them, and their right to review the draft before it goes live. Most clients say yes when they understand the process, and offering to send the finished piece for sign-off removes the main reason people hesitate.
Where confidentiality genuinely matters — regulated sectors, competitive tenders, sensitive commercial data — agree the level of anonymity in advance. A useful scale looks like this:
Anonymised case studies are still persuasive. Readers recognise themselves in the description, and the numbers do the talking even when the name is missing.
Resist the urge to write a testimonial with a photo attached. The strongest case studies follow a simple three-part shape, and it maps neatly onto how people read online.
The problem. Describe the situation in the client's own language. What was costing them time, money or sleep? Be honest about the mess — a case study where everything was already fine convinces nobody.
The approach. Explain what you actually did, step by step. This is where your expertise shows. Include the awkward decisions: the option you rejected, the constraint you worked around, the thing you had to phase because of budget.
The proof. Lead with the outcome, then support it with figures and a short quote. Keep the quote specific rather than gushing — a sentence about a particular moment of relief lands better than "they were brilliant".
Use small subheadings inside the page — "The challenge", "What we changed", "The results" — so scanners can find the parts they care about.
Vague claims such as "improved efficiency significantly" do nothing at all. Concrete numbers build credibility, and they're what other specialists quote when they recommend you.
If a client won't release figures, describe the before and after in concrete terms anyway. "Previously three people handled every booking manually; now one person oversees the same volume" is still evidence. Give the timeframe too — a result measured over six months reads as far more reliable than an open-ended claim.
A case study nobody finds is a wasted afternoon. Treat it as a proper landing page rather than a casual blog post.
Include the sector and the service in your page title and main heading, and mention both naturally in the opening paragraph. Use the terminology your clients actually search for, not internal jargon. A page called "Case study" tells Google nothing; "Kitchen extraction design for a 40-cover restaurant" tells it plenty.
Add a short summary box near the top with the key result in one line. Link to the case study from the relevant service page, and link back from the case study to the service. Keep the URL short and readable rather than a string of numbers.
Case studies age. Put a reminder in your diary to check each one every twelve months. Update the figures if the client is happy to share more, add a follow-up paragraph about what happened next, and correct anything that has changed.
Then reuse the material. Case studies work hard in tender documents, proposals, email signatures, printed brochures and social posts. One good story, properly documented, can support your sales conversations for years — which is a far better return than another page describing how much you care about customer service.
